Our community buildings coffee morning today, was held at Whittlesford Memorial Hall, a lovely venue with a perfect mix of an historical building with new extensions to meet the changing needs of the community. Our hosts provided a tour of the venue and a brief history of how the hall came about and how the improvements have taken place over the years. The original part of the facility dates back 100 years and was built in remembrance of WWI and the local people lost during that time – how lovely to have a memorial hall for future generations of the community to use.
After our tour we refilled our coffee cups and we were treated to cake made by one of the trustees (and what great cake it was!).
Our speaker for the second half of the event was Angela Haylock from Hunts Forum, who gave a very useful Question and Answer session on Child and Adult Safeguarding, this was an opportunity for trustees to ask all those searching questions.
This event is one of a programme of events going on throughout the year, please take a look at our training page for full details. The events are open to members and non-members, so please get in touch if you are interested in joining one of our future events.
Are you currently looking to fund a project? Or you have an idea for a project but are unsure how to fund it? Well, SupportCambridgeshire 4 Communities is a free self-service portal which enables voluntary and community organisations to browse, search and apply for grants to support their work.
The portal has been funded by Cambridgeshire County Council for a 12 month period, and community organisations are encouraged to register, visit and use the site as much as possible. If you would like training or support using the site we can offer group or 1:1 sessions on how to use the portal. Simply register today to start browsing and searching for new funding opportunities.
Its FREE and there for you to use, so what are you waiting for!
Our next training event takes place in August and already several trustees have signed up to attend, if you are considering coming along please let me know as soon as possible as places are limited – click here to book your place.
