Community Building Surveys

ACRE has launched a comprehensive survey for community buildings across the country, these surveys are conducted once every ten years. The valuable data collected helps to secure funding for halls, to ensure that advice and information adapts to the challenges facing the volunteers who manage community facilities and that the ACRE Network can continue to provide the very best support to this network.

ACRE wants to hear from all kinds of community buildings, the survey is aimed at traditional village halls as well as community centres, sports pavilions, church halls, churches providing community use, community centres, WI halls and community pubs providing meeting rooms.

ACRE’s previous surveys carried out in 1988, 1998 and 2009 paved the way for essential license changes, informing policy and securing the recent £3m improvement grant fund.

The more halls we can encourage to take part the better our understanding will be locally, nationally and for government departments to really understands the issues and requirements of the network.

Previous local annual surveys

During February 2019, Cambridgeshire ACRE carried out our annual survey of community facilities across the county, this process was slightly delayed, in previous years we have surveyed during October/November, but due to other commitments we decided to move the survey to February 2019, hence the gap of a 2018 survey.
